MAK Design Kids Special: How to write poetry with a hammer

Free workshop with artist Andrea Maurer

Language under the hammer: words are broken down, letters knocked out, sentences rearranged. Insurance policies, reminders, internet contracts, divorce agreements—but also timetables, homework assignments, chat histories, birthday cards, and cheat sheets—become love letters, number poems, and letter sonatas. Bring your relevant documents with you! What works in everyday life is poetically thrown off course here. We set to work dismantling, reclaiming letters and words, and shaking up our own texts.

Everything fell apart into pieces, the pieces into more pieces, and nothing could be encompassed by a single term anymore.
