MAK-it! Circle of Clay with Anna Riess

Artist Anna Riess leads the Circle of Clay™, a setting designed to quietly explore form, listen to your intuition, trust your hands, and develop your own visual language. For the hands-on realization of ideas, the artist openly shares her feminist working methods and applied techniques for building sculptural works autonomously using her favorite clay, and also guides participants in adding color to their pieces. The works of artist and cultural anthropologist Anna Riess are often subjected to what she calls a “nipple-ifying of the everyday.” Whether small “titty cups” emerge or something entirely different—it’s entirely up to each participant. The finished ceramic objects will then be glazed and fired and can be picked up at the artist’s studio two weeks later.
